BOSS NATION HANDBOOK

Practices & Attendance Policy

Commitment to the Team

Being a part of Boss Nation Cheer means making a commitment to your team. When one member is absent, it impacts the entire team’s ability to practice effectively and reach its goals. A team is a group that works together in unity and requires full participation from every athlete. Attendance and dedication are essential to our success, so please consider this carefully before committing.

During competition season, Boss Nation Cheer reserves the right to schedule additional mandatory practices if necessary. Athletes are expected to be fully present—both physically and mentally—at every practice. The coaching staff also reserves the right to adjust team placements throughout the season as needed.

Excused Absences (Must be communicated in advance)

✔ Contagious illness with a physician’s note
✔ Family emergency
✔ Pre-approved summer vacation with advance notice

Unexcused Absences (Not accepted)
✘ Traffic delays
✘ Being grounded
✘ Excessive homework
✘ Feeling tired
✘ No transportation

Vacation Policy

Vacations are not allowed during competition season unless the gym is officially closed or the absence has been pre-approved by coaches. Practices may not be missed in the week before a competition. If you have any planned vacations, please inform us as soon as possible.

Practice Rules

To ensure a productive and safe practice environment, the following rules must be followed:

1. Proper Attire

✔ Cheer shoes must be worn.
✔ Hair must be pulled back securely.
✔ Fitted athletic wear is required – shorts and an appropriate color T-shirt/tank. No baggy clothing (it interferes with spotting and movement).
✔ No zippers, metal, or jewelry for safety reasons.

If an athlete is not properly dressed, they may be asked to sit out or make necessary adjustments.

2. No Cell Phones

✔ Cell phones must be stored in bags and not used during practice. If this becomes an issue, coaches will enforce further restrictions.

3. Stay Focused & Respectful

✔ Leave personal issues at the door – practice is a positive and focused space.
✔ No rough play at any time.
✔ Concentration is key for your safety and the safety of your teammates.

By following these rules, we ensure that every practice runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
